 Busting of illegal Telecom Setup by Department of Telecom, AP LSA Hyderabad at Mangalagiri Data Centre, Andhra Pradesh

Under the dynamic leadership of the Honourable Minister of Communications, Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Department of Telecom is proactively working to curb the illegal routing of calls and cyber frauds. In line with the mission to arrest cyberfrauds, the DoT unit at Hyderabad is successfully mitigating illegal telecom setups and illegal call routings. 

Recently, an inter-state illegal call routing set-up was busted in Coordination with the Andhra Pradesh Police at Mangalagiri , AP. The set-up was operating through a data centre in Mangalagiri, AP. The SIP connections were being used to route the international calls from foreign countries to Indian customers in an illegal way. A SIP server was seized in a joint operation of Department of Telecom with Andhra Pradesh Police. This causes revenue loss to the nation and causes hardship to innocent subscribers. Anti National element also sometimes use these illegal methods. So far, one thousand SIP lines have come under the scanner.

 The authenticity of documents submitted for SIP connection procurement, is suspect and currently under verification.

An FIR has been filed against the suspects. One suspect has been apprehended from Gorakhpur in U.P. Other suspects in other states are also being monitored for future action.  Further investigation is underway. 

The operation was possible with the active support of Police units of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
