Technology Incubators will create jobs in rural areas – Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan

Vijayawada (prajaamaravathi), February 05: Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswa Bhusan Harichandan laid the foundation for Andhra Technology Business Incubator being set up in the Narasaraopeta Engineering College in collaboration with Innovation and Entrepreneurship Division of the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, JNTU-K Kakinada on Friday. Governor Sri Biswa Bhusan Harichandan addressing the members through a video message, said he was happy to know that the incubation centre being set up is the first of its kind mission in the country to provide a complete ecosystem support to technology based start-ups, where innovative ideas are generated, nurtured and positioned for development of sustainable enterprises.

Governor Sri Harichandan said that the Centre had recently launched Rs.1000 crore Start-up India seed-fund to help new startups grow in the country and the government is making all efforts to create a startup system to help the youth become entrepreneurs. 

The Governor expressed the hope that the Andhra Technology Business Incubator will help in creation of jobs and promote new technology and innovation-based startups with a focus on manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, clean-tech, energy, water and Internet of Things (IOT). 

Governor Sri Harichandan complimented the National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board, JNTU Kakinada, Narasaraopeta Engineering College, for their efforts to support rural  youth by providing training, mentorship, funding and workspace to transform their innovative ideas into a Start Up.

Dr. Gopi Reddy Srinivasa Reddy, MLA, Narasaraopet, Sri Chakravarthi, Andhra Technology Business Incubator, Sri Koteswara Rao, Narasaraopeta Engineering College have attended the programme held in Narasaraopeta Engineering College premises. Prof. K. Hema Chandra Reddy, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, Dr. Mrs. Anita Gupta, Head-Department, NEB Division, Department of Science & Technology, Prof. M. Ramalinga Raju, Vice Chancellor, JNTU Kakinada and Sri Praveen Roy, Scientist-F, NEB Division have participated in the programme, through video conference.
