PRESS NOTE ON AWARENESS CAMPAIGN CONDUCTED ON 02-04-2021 AT PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTES IN GUNTUR AND KRISHNA DISTRICTS.
It may please be noted that in pursuance of the orders issued by the kind DGP, AP, Sri Gautam Sawang, IPS., and Commissioner, Special Enforcement Bureau, AP., Vijayawada, the officials of Special Joint Task Force on Drugs have organized Awareness Campaigns today i.e. on 2-04-2021 at the following Professional Institutes of Guntur Urban and Rural Districts.
1) K.L. University, Vaddeswaram (v), Tadepalli(M), Guntur Urban
2) Priyadarshini Engineering College, Chintalapudi village, Duggirala Mandal.
At KL University, the programme was inaugurated by Dr. L.S.S. Reddy, Vice Chancellor, KL University at about 12 Noon at Seminar Hall in the presence of the following Senior Police Officers.
1.Sri R.N.Ammi Reddy, IPS, Superintendent Of Police, Guntur Urban,
2.Sri Arif Hafeez IPS., Addl SP, SEB Guntur Rural, I/c Guntur Urban,
3.Sri K.Eswara Rao, Addl. SP L&O, Guntur Urban.
4.Sri D.Durga Prasad, SDPO, North, Guntur Urban.
About 600 students have attended the Venue and another 3000 students have participated through live streaming. The programme was concluded at 1 PM. During the programme, the participants(students) have expressed their happiness and said that the programme is very useful to them and they are very much delighted to work with Police against drug abuse and other anti-social activities.
In the programme, the dignitaries and academics have discussed in length about the evil effects of the Drugs and come to a conclusion to:
a) form a team with Police, Excise, and University authorities to work against drug abuse and
b) install/arrange complaint boxes at all important places in the university operated by the Police.
At Priyadarshini Engineering College, the programme was presided over by Smt. Sravanthi Roy, SDPO, Tenali in the presence of A. Ashok Kumar, CI of Police, Tenali and CH. Prathap Kumar, SI of Police, Duggirala P.S at 11 am and concluded at 12.30 PM. About 100 students have participated in the programme in which the Police Officers have explained the evil effects of the Drugs and appealed them not to go for drugs as it will ruin their career.
