Members of 61st NDC course meet AP Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan V
ijayawada, April 8 (prajaamaravathi): Group of Senior Officers from Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, Indian Audit & Accounts Service, defence officers from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan undergoing the 61st course on ‘National Security and Strategic Studies’ at the National Defence College, New Delhi, has met Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswa Bhusan Harichandan at Raj Bhavan on Thursday. The group of 20 members led by Major General Manoj Kumar, SM of Indian Army, Faculty of the NDC, is part of the 107 members undergoing the 11-month long 61st course organised at NDC, New Delhi, is visiting Andhra Pradesh as part of the course programme. Addressing the group of officers, Governor Sri Biswa Bhusan Harichandan said Andhra Pradesh has been consistently ranked No. 1 in ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in industrial promotion. The Governor said the State having longest eastern coastline is abundant in natural resources and is a land of renowned temples and monuments with rich cultural and traditional history dating back to Buddhist period. The Governor hoped that the members will have an enriching experience of their visit to the State. Air Commodore Vikas Sharma briefed Governor Sri Harichandan about the course programme on the study and practice of National Security and Strategy at the NDC, which was founded in 1960 in New Delhi as an apex institute of learning dedicated to imparting knowledge on strategic, economic, scientific, political and industrial aspects of national defence for select senior officers of the armed forces, civil services of India and other countries. So far 3999 officers including members from 69 countries have undergone the course programme at NDC in the past 60 years. Sri Mukesh Kumar Meena, Secretary to Governor was also present on the occasion.
