 Gudivada, Aug 12 (prajaamaravati): CM Jaganmohan Reddy is constructing 28.30 lakh houses across the state, said state Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani).  On Thursday, several villagers met Minister Kodali Nani at Gudivada Rural Mandal Lingavaram.  On the occasion, former MPTC member Kallepalli Sankara Rao said that 18 people were found ineligible for various reasons in the housing selection process.  They all said that there is no homeless poor.  He said the technical issues were resolved in line with government guidelines.  They also demanded that 18 eligible people be given houses.  On this, Minister Kodali Nani said that the distribution of houses started from December 25 last year.  Gudivada Rural Mandal Mallayipalem Layout distributed houses to 119 eligible people in Lingavaram village.  The 18 homeless poor are also advised to apply through the village secretariat.  Eligibility will be reviewed and a house pattas will be issued within 90 days of application.  Meanwhile, housing works are being carried out actively under the housing scheme for the poor.  As part of this, 17,005 Jagananna colonies are under construction.  He said that more spacious houses were coming up than in the past and these were designed to meet the minimum requirements of the family.  The government has allocated Rs 34,109 crore to provide better facilities in the Jagananna colonies.  Minister Kodali Nani said that for the first time in the history of the country, 30.70 lakh house pattas were registered and given in the name of women in the state.
