Lokesh calls death of Aleesha a 'Govt murder'
Demands dismissal of guilty police officers
Rs. 50 lakh ex gratia should be paid
God's script: Father's corruption exposed in son's rule
AMARAVATI (prajaamaravati): TDP National General Secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh on Friday condemned the non-stop attacks and harassment of the minority communities that were leading to death of victims under the ruthless regime of Chief Minister Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh.
Mr. Lokesh said that yet another minority youth named Aleesha lost his life in the aftermath of alleged beating by the excise policemen at Bhatrupalem in Guntur district. He was beaten up for alleged smuggling of liquor from across the inter-State borders. This incident brought back sad memories of how the police and the ruling party leaders' harassment caused Abdul Salaam to commit suicide along all his four family members in Nandyal.
In a statement here, Mr. Nara Lokesh asked whether it was sane and correct on the part of the Jagan Reddy police to use their brutal force against a youth on the pretext of illegal liquor smuggling charges. In that case, what punishment should be given to the Chief Minister who has been selling his own brands of harmful cheap liquor in the name of Government liquor shops all over the State. The ruling party's atrocities were going on increasing with each passing day.
Mr. Lokesh demanded that the Jagan Reddy regime take immediate action against the police officers and men who were responsible for the death of Aleesha. Also, Rs. 50 lakh ex gratia should be paid to the family members of the victim. This death should be considered a Government murder. The responsible officers should be dismissed. The ruling party was not giving any value to the lives of the people and the minorities. The police were throwing all rules to the winds.
Mr. Nara Lokesh asserted that the time had come for everybody to stand up and demand immediate steps for the protection of the minority rights. The Jagan Reddy regime had not learnt any lessons even after the public backlash in the Nandyal family suicide. Abdul Salaam along with his wife and two children threw themselves under the speeding train due to unchecked harassment by the police.
The TDP MLC asked what right the Jagan regime had got to take away the lives of the general public on the flimsy grounds of some alleged charges. Just for not wearing a face mask, a Chirala youth was beaten to death. The Government has not taken any action against the guilty officers. A doctor was branded as mad and driven to death just for asking for a face mask. A Punganur youth died amid suspicious circumstances just for criticising the Government over high prices of cheap liquor on social media.
Mr. Nara Lokesh said that the God was writing a reverse script these days as was evident from how the massive corruption in the YSR regime's Jalayagnam was now causing the wasteful flow of the river waters into the sea. Now, the crest gate of the Pulichintala project came loose and got washed away in the beginning stages of the flood itself. It was indeed the 'God's script' that the corruption done in the father's regime was getting exposed in the son's rule.
