 Gudivada, Aug 9 (prajaamaravati): State Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) has said that CM Jaganmohan Reddy is working towards providing fresh water tap connections to every household in the state by 2024.  On Monday, Minister Kodali Nani reviewed the work undertaken by the Jala Jeevan Mission in Krishna District Gudivada constituency.  Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kodali Nani said that under the Jala Jeevan Mission scheme in Gudivada constituency, Rs.  110.57 crore has been sanctioned.  Meanwhile, Jala Jeevan Mission was able to provide fresh water tap connections to 50 per cent of households across the state during the last one year.  We are working towards the target set by CM Jaganmohan Reddy by 2024.  Through the Jala Jeevan Mission, He said the government would undertake the work with a budget of Rs 7,251 crore.  By March 2022, 83 per cent of households across the state will have access to fresh water connections.  CM Jaganmohan Reddy said the government had distributed more than 30 lakh houses to the poor at one time like never before in the country.  In the first phase, the government has started construction of 15.6 lakh houses.  The government is also providing water for the construction of these houses.  He said that CM Jaganmohan Reddy felt that there should be water supply in the Jagananna colonies to expedite housing works and steps were being taken accordingly.  The government has already warned that action will be taken if the Jala Jeevan Mission is negligent in the tasks to be undertaken this year.  The Jala Jeevan Mission funding was available.  He said the government had issued clear directions to the authorities to take steps to ensure that the works were completed as soon as the tenders were finalized.  He said if there was a delay in undertaking the works, the contractors would not be able to move forward as the prices of materials would go up.  He said that all measures are being taken to ensure timely implementation of Jala Jeevan Mission work in Gudivada constituency.  Every three months, there will be a comprehensive review of the Jala Jeevan Mission works, water supply to the Jagananna colonies and so on.  Jala Jeevan Mission funds will be fully utilized in Gudivada constituency.  Minister Kodali Nani said that fresh water tap connection will be provided to households as per the objective of CM Jaganmohan Reddy.
