Gudivada, January 11 (prajaamaravati): Kodali Nageswara Rao (Chinni), brother of Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani), Minister of State for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, inaugurated the national level boulder pulling Demonstration Competitions for Ongole etnic bulls. On this occasion, Kodali Chinni Pujas were held on Tuesday at the K Convention on Lingavaram Road, Gudivada town, Krishna District.
Kodali Nageswara Rao (Chinni) presented the memento to Gorla Sivannarayana of Rajampet, the owner of a pair of Ongole breed eds competing in the first two teeth category. Speaking on the occasion, Kodali Nageswara Rao (Chinni) said, "We have set up the NTR to YSR Charitable Trust and have been organizing these competitions for the last five years. All the Telugu people who have left the villages for various reasons like education, employment and business and settled in towns and cities will return to their hometowns for the Sankranti festival. The tradition of spending time with parents, brothers-in-law, sisters and friends is said to be continuing. The Ongole breed of cattle in the state is well known all over the world. He and his brother Kodali Nani hold national level competitions every year to conserve this breed of cattle. "We are also organizing competitions in the agriculture sector with a focus on cattle engaged in agriculture," he said. The winners of the first nine places in the two teeth, four teeth, six teeth, agriculture, sub-juniors, juniors and seniors categories will be awarded cash prizes of Rs. 18.40 lakhs. He said that a large number of couples were coming from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and other states for the competition and the owners of these competitions were also provided with dining and accommodation facilities. We have set up special galleries to cater to the lakhs of cattle patrons, farmers and people coming from all over the state. Kodali Nageswara Rao (Chinni) appealed to everyone to cooperate for the success of these competitions. Kote Ratnadas, PET, then presented a bouquet to Kodali Nageswara Rao (Chinni) and honored him with a shawl. YSR Congress Party state leader Dukkipati Sasibhushan, former municipal vice chairman Adapa Babji, YCP town president Gorla Sreenu, NTR Stadium committee vice-chairman Paleti Chanti, Gudivada govt hospital development committee chairman MV Narayanareddy, MPPs Peyyala Adam, Gadde Pushparani and ZPTC member Golla Ramakrishna were present on the occasion.
