COVID-19 


Vijayawada, January 08 (prajaamaravati):Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswabhusan Harichandan directed the Vice Chancellors of the State Universities, who have scheduled their annual Convocations in January and February, to defer them for the time being in view of the rising number ofcases COVID-19 on a daily basis. 


Governor Sri Harichandan reviewed the situation in view of rise in number of COVID-19 cases being reported on a daily basis and the emergence of new Omicron variant and took the decision to postpone the conduct of Convocations already scheduled by the Universities, after taking stock of the situation. 


Governor Sri Harichandan has earlier informed the Vice Chancellors to hold the annual Convocations periodically on regular basis by giving top priority to the students careers and their future endeavors.


The Governor has now taken the decision to postpone the Convocations already scheduled  in the interest of health of students, parents, faculty members and administrative staff, who may otherwise get exposed to COVID-19, in case the Convocations are held in physical mode as the menace of coronavirus is spreading at a faster rate and there is an enormous increase in COVID-19 cases being reporeted on a on a daily basis.
