Lokesh urges Govt to postpone MBBS exams
Pleads for preventing Covid 3rd wave threat
600 out 3,000 students already infected
AMARAVATI (prajaamaravati): TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh on Tuesday urged the YSRCP Government to postpone the MBBS first and second year examinations to prevent the Coronavirus threat to the students.
Lokesh termed it as unfortunate that the Health University in AP was going ahead with the exams though many other States had postponed in view of the rising Covid-19 third wave infections everywhere. The AP Government's adamant attitude was posing a big danger to the lives of the students and their families.
In a statement here, Nara Lokesh said 600 out of the total 3,000 medical students had fallen ill with the virus infections. All of them would have to sit for the examinations because of the adamant stance of the present regime. The Government should change its decision in order to prevent any health problems to the vulnerable.
Lokesh said the MBBS first year examinations were scheduled to begin from January 28 and the second year examinations from February 1. Without further playing with the lives of the medical students, these examinations should be postponed forthwith.
The NTR Health University officials should understand the anguish of the parents and immediately defer the MBBS examinations.
