Governor participates in Cochlear implant switch-on programme
Vijayawada, April 2 (prajaamaravati): Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswabhusan Harichandan appreciated the services provided by Dr. Y. Subbarayudu, Cochlear Implant surgeon and his team of doctors, for the cochlear implant surgeries performed on hearing-disabled children under the ‘Arogya Sri’ health scheme.
Governor Sri Harichandan participated in the Cochlear implant switch-on programme for the hearing-disabled children, who have already undergone the implant surgeries, at a programme organized at Raj Bhavan on Saturday. Dr. Subbarayudu said that each Cochlear implant costs about Rs.8 lakh and that the implant surgeries have been performed by them totally free of cost for the children under the Arogya Sri Health Scheme of the State government.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Sri Harichandan said that the YSR Arogya Sri Health scheme implemented by the State government has been providing free medical treatment facilities covering many diseases and that the scheme has been boon to the people in distress and downtrodden sections of the society. He said it was necessary to create more awareness among the needy people, about the benefits provided under the YSR Arogya Sri Health scheme.
Sri R.P. Sisodia, Special Chief Secretary to Governor, Sri A. Shaym Prasad, Joint Secretary, Sri D. Sanyasi Rao, Deputy Secretary, attended the programme.
