Shri. S. Suresh Kumar Garu, Commissioner of School Education Department and SPD Samagra Shiskha, said that the Save the Children organization under the auspices of School Education Department, Samagra Shiskha is effectively working to provide quality education through STEM (Science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and digital system to set a new trend in school education.
On Wednesday, he participated in a special meeting held with Save the Children, HDFC Bank, Sun Foundation and Sun TV Network at the State Office of Samagra shiksha. On this occasion, Shri S.Suresh Kumar Garu said... It is commendable to create a special project to provide experiential education to children and set up Save the Children Stem and Smart Laboratories in 81 model schools and 117 Zilla Parishad high schools in our state. Teachers and students are requested to use them properly. He said that this innovative program undertaken by Save the Children is very useful for children as they can progress in the fields of science, maths, engineering and technology. He congratulated Save the Children who designed and implemented this program, HDFC, Sun Network and Sun Foundation who provided financial support. As part of the programme, a brochure of Save the Children's programs was unveiled.
During the meeting Save the Children's representatives said HDFC Bank provided financial assistance to 101 schools in 23 districts for setting up STEM and Smart laboratories, Sun Foundation & Sun Network provided financial assistance to 97 schools in Kadapa, Nellore and Tirupati districts while explaining the implementation and progress of STEM and Smart School in the state.
In this meeting, Samagra Shiskha SAPD Shri. B. Srinivasa Rao , KGBV Secretary Shri. D. Madhusudana Rao, Secretry of Model School Shri. K.V. Krishna Reddy, Director of Text book press Shri. K.Ravindranath Reddy, Senior Vice President Shri. Shankar Mutyam from HDFC Bank, Deputy Vice President Shri. Venkata Rajesh, Assistant Vice President Shri. Vinayak, representatives of Save the Children Mrs. Prashanthi Battina ( Senior Manager, Andhra-Telangana State Representative), Srinagesh Malladi (Education Lead, South India), Shri. Ramesh Donta (Project Lead), Shri. Sudheer (Program Representative) Chakrapani (Project Lead), teachers, district science representatives, etc. participated.
