Tirupati, February 21, 2025  (prajaamaravati);


CBC Vijayawada, in collaboration with Padmavathi University, marked International Mother Language Day with a vibrant celebration in Tirupati. The event underscored the significance of mother tongues in preserving cultural heritage and promoting the Indian Knowledge System.


Addressing the gathering, Shri Rajender Chaudhry, Additional Director General of the Andhra Pradesh Region, highlighted India's linguistic diversity, describing it as a testament to the nation’s "unity in diversity."


He advised the students to showcase their Creative Skills by participating in the ongoing Create Challenges as part of the ensuing WAVES 2025 Summit.. 


Prof. C. Vani, Dean of the Department of Social Sciences, encouraged students to create narratives that safeguard and promote their cultural identity.


The event featured a series of competitions organized by the Department of Telugu, Faculty of Languages, attracting over 150 students from various disciplines. Participants engaged in an essay writing competition, an elocution contest, and a unique live poetry competition on Artificial Intelligence. The Song and Drama Division’s PRTs also performed Telugu songs celebrating the state’s rich cultural and linguistic heritage.


As a symbolic gesture, dignitaries planted saplings as part of the initiative "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam."


The celebration concluded with the recognition of competition winners and the felicitation of distinguished guests with shawls, mementos, and bouquets. The event successfully reinforced the importance of linguistic diversity and cultural preservation.
