Amaravati, June 24 (prajaamaravati ); In a major push to boost employment, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed state officials to prioritize skill development programs with a clear target of creating 20 lakh jobs for Andhra Pradesh's youth. The CM emphasized that skill training must align with emerging technological advancements and global industry requirements to ensure employability. 


*AI-Integrated Skill Portal And Job fairs to benefit Youth*


During a comprehensive review of the Skill Development Department, the Chief Minister outlined key measures to modernize workforce training. He instructed officials to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the state's Skill Portal 'Naipunyam' to identify and consolidate job openings not just within Andhra Pradesh but across India and international markets. The portal will also feature an automated resume builder, generating professional profiles for registered candidates based on their qualifications.


To directly link job seekers with employers, the government will organize large-scale job fairs, with an immediate goal of facilitating 1,500 placements per constituency this year.


*₹9.5 Lakh Crore Investments to Fuel Employment Growth*


The state government has already secured commitments for ₹9.5 lakh crore in industrial investments, which are projected to create 8.5 lakh jobs. To maximize these opportunities, the CM stressed the importance of conducting skill gap analyses for IT graduates to better align training with industry need, expanding apprenticeship programs across all sectors to provide hands-on experiene, incorporating soft skills training alongside technical education to enhance employability


*Long-Term Vision: Skill Development from School to Higher Education*


As part of the Swarnandhra 2047 development plan, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is rolling out a comprehensive lifelong skill development framework aimed at nurturing a future-ready workforce. This initiative begins with the introduction of vocational training from Class 6 onward, helping students build foundational competencies from an early age. To ensure that skills education is practical and industry-relevant, the government is strengthening collaborations between educational institutions and industry partners. Additionally, the adoption of the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) will help standardize training quality across the state, ensuring consistency, credibility, and alignment with national benchmarks.


*Region-Specialized Training Through Cluster Approach*


Skill Development Minister Nara Lokesh detailed the state's innovative cluster-based training model, which tailors programs to regional economic strengths:


The Krishna-Guntur cluster will focus on agriculture, textiles, food processing and emerging fields like quantum computing. Anantapur-Kurnool-Kadapa will specialize in green energy, drone technology and automobile sectors. Coastal areas like Srikakulam-Visakhapatnam will develop med-tech, pharmaceutical and engineering skills, while the Chittoor-Nellore-Prakasam zone will train youth for port operations, granite industry and electronics manufacturing. The East-West Godavari region will concentrate on aquaculture and petroleum sector skills.


To support this initiative, the government has established partnerships with 162 industries for ITI training and signed 63 MoUs with polytechnic institutes.


*Global Workforce Strategy: 1 Lakh International Placements by 2026*


With an ambitious target of securing 1 lakh global job placements for AP youth by 2025-26 (scaling to 3 lakh by 2029), the government is prioritizing foreign language training in German, Italian and other in-demand languages. This initiative will tap into opportunities in healthcare, construction, tourism, IT, logistics and manufacturing sectors across Germany, Italy, Singapore and other nations.


The CM has directed officials to explore both online and offline training models for language education, potentially collaborating with institutions like the English and Foreign Languages University.
