: In a pioneering initiative to ease the burden on farmers, the coalition government is providing drones to farmer groups with 80% subsidy, said Hon’ble State Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu. The Minister launched an agriculture-purpose drone at the Nimmada camp office on Monday, examined its functionality, and distributed it to farmers from Narendrapuram village, Nandigam Mandal. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that integrating technology into agriculture helps reduce labor costs and saves time. "It takes just seven minutes for a drone to spray pesticide over one acre, while manual spraying takes nearly two hours," he explained. He urged every farmer to adapt to emerging technologies. He highlighted that the use of drones not only reduces farming costs and speeds up operations, but also supports crop growth, helps in monitoring pest control, and ultimately increases yield. The Minister mentioned that the Central Government is implementing the Namo Drone Didi Scheme to promote drone usage in agriculture. On this occasion, a brochure was also released. Agriculture Department officials Trinatha Swamy, Jaganmohan Rao, and Sreekanth were among those present at the event.
