      Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Information and Rural Development, inaugurated the newly constructed Head Post Office building in Razole today, Thursday, at 11:00 AM, aiming to provide enhanced services to Razole and the surrounding rural areas. The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Shri Ganti Harish Madhur, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Amalapuram, who presided over the event.
Following the inauguration, a public meeting was held at Mangena Gangayya Kalyana Mandapam, Razole, where dignitaries addressed the gathering. During the meeting, the Peddapuram Post Office building under Kakinada Division constructed at a cost of Rs.1.78 Crores, was virtually inaugurated by the Hon’ble MoSC.

Highlights from Hon’ble Minister Dr. Chandrasekhar’s Address:
The Hon’ble Minister stated, “India has two PMs — one is our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and the other is the ‘Postman’ in every village who ensures services reach the last mile.”
He emphasized the rapid modernization within India Post — enabling real-time SMS alerts on article booking and delivery, robust article tracking systems, and improved technological infrastructure to compete with private service providers in the market.

Over the past year alone, ₹5,000 Crores have been invested in modernizing Post Offices. Mobile Phones, biometric devices, and thermal printers have been distributed to 1.4 lakh postmen, transforming each into a Mobile ATM.

He added that India Post plays a significant role in Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT), citing that out of ₹10,000 cr released under the ‘Thalliki Vandhanam’ scheme, ₹1,500 cr. were distributed through Post Offices in Andhra Pradesh.

He encouraged citizens to utilize Postal Savings and Insurance Services, which can start with as little as ₹100, offering secure, trustworthy financial options for all. During the event, the Hon’ble Minister highlighted the Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme, describing it as a vital initiative aimed at securing the future of the girl child through long-term financial savings.

He noted that Post Offices are no longer limited to just delivering letters — they are multifunctional service points. He requested the Hon’ble Minister to initiate awareness campaigns in rural areas about the full range of services India Post offers.

Significance of Razole Head Post Office:

Established on April 1, 1980, the Razole HPO currently serves as a central hub for 19 Sub Post Offices and 95 Branch Post Offices. It plays a vital role in delivering Postal, banking, insurance, railway ticket booking, Aadhaar enrollment and various Central and State Government welfare schemes to the rural population across the Godavari Delta through India Post Payments Bank Services.

The newly constructed Head Post Office building has been developed at a cost of ₹2 crore, reflecting the Department’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure and providing modern, efficient facilities to enhance postal services.

Special Announcements & Initiatives:

Under the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), a ₹10 Lakh cheque for insurance claim was handed over to the family of Late Shri Bokka Madusudhana Rao (from Nedunuru village).Sukanya Samriddhi Account Passbooks were distributed to newly enrolled girl children during the event by Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, Hon’ble Minister.
