Take advantage of the SPREE scheme
Amaravati (prajaamaravati);
Employers in the North Andhra region should make maximum use of the SPREE scheme, appealed Sri Soumendra Kumar Sahu, Deputy Director-in-Charge, ESI Corporation Sub-Regional Office, Visakhapatnam. Speaking to reporters on Friday, he said that the State Insurance Corporation of India (ESIIC) has approved the SPREE 2025 (Scheme for Promotion of Registration of Employers and Employers) at the 196th meeting of the ESI Corporation held in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh under the chairmanship of Union Minister for Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandavya. The objective of the Scheme for Promotion of Registration of Employers and Employees (SPREE) 2025 approved by ESIC is to expand social security coverage under the ESI Act. He said that this scheme will be implemented from July 1 to December 31, 2025. This scheme provides an opportunity for all employees, including employers, contract workers and temporary workers, who have not registered yet, to register without any checks or old dues.
Activities to be undertaken in Spree 2025
Organizations and employees can register their organizations and employees digitally through the ESIC portal, Shram Suvidha, and MCA portal. The validity of the registration will be considered from the date declared by the employer. No subscription or benefit will be applicable for the period before registration. No checks of records related to the period before registration will be conducted. No inquiries will be made about old records. This scheme encourages voluntary registration by removing the fear of penalties and simplifying the registration process. Before the launch of the Spree scheme, if the registration was not done within a certain period legal action would have to be taken or old dues would have to be paid. The aim of Spree 2025 is to remove these obstacles and bring other unregistered organizations and workers under the ambit of ESI and provide comprehensive social security. With the launch of Spree 2025, the State Insurance Corporation of India has taken a step towards a progressive society that is inclusive and provides social security. It encourages employers to regularize their workforce by simplifying the registration process and providing exemption from old dues. It also ensures that more workers, especially those working in contract sectors, receive the necessary health and social benefits through the ESI Act. He said that ESIC is committed to strengthening its scope in line with the vision of a welfare-centric labor system in India and fulfilling the goal of universal social security. He urged the people of North Andhra to take advantage of this.
