*Rs. 375 Crore worth Tourism Projects sanctioned to AP in 2024-25: Tourism Minister*

Union Ministry of Tourism through its central sector schemes has sanctioned various projects worth Rs. 375.07 Crore, said Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. In a written reply to the questions by Shri Sana Satish Babu and Shri Beedha Masthan Rao Yadav in Rajya Sabha, Union Tourism Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, ‘Swadesh Darshan(SD)’, Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0)’, ‘Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD)’ – a sub-scheme of Swadesh Darshan and ‘Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)’ complements the efforts of tourism infrastructure development by extending financial assistance to the State of Andhra Pradesh.
Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said, Two Projects of Development of Suryalanka Beach Experience with Rs. 97.52 crores and Borra Cave Experience at Araku - Lambasingi with Rs. 29.87l Crore are sanctioned under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 Scheme in the State Andhra Pradesh for the year 2024-25.
Similarly, he said, Ahobilam-A spiritual Odyssey and Enriching Buddhist Heritage and Cultural Experiences at Nagarjuna Sagar with a cost of Rs.25 crore each, sanctioned under Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) Scheme in the state.
Under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) Scheme, Enriching the fort and Gorge Experience in Gandikota with Rs. 77.91 Crore, and Akhanda Godavari- (Havelok Bridge & Pushkar Ghat) in Raja Mahendravaram with Rs. 94.44 Crore are under development for the year 2024-25, Shri Shekhawat said.
Development of Pilgrimage Tourism Infrastructure in Annavaram Temple Town with a cost of Rs. 25.33 crore is sanctioned by the Union Government under Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD) for the year 2024-25, while three projects worth Rs.124.89 Crore are in progress, sanctioned in the previous years, the tourism minister said.
Swadesh Darshan Scheme in the State of Andhra Pradesh Rs. 147.46 Crore were utilised between 2014-18 for coastal circuit and buddhhist circuit projects, Shri Shekhawat informed.
