*Visit of 28 Trainee IPS Officers to Visakhapatnam Port Authority

A group of 28 Trainee IPS Officers have visited Visakhapatnam Port Authority on 23.07.2025 in connection with acquiring exposure on Emerging Security Challenges In Maritime Security. Since the subject of Maritime Security is gaining global importance, Government of India have scheduled visits to Ports for the trainee IPS officers.
Officials of Visakhapatnam Port Authority, welcomed the trainee IPS Officers to the port and briefed them on the activities and operations of the port. The Dy. Conservator & PFSO (Port Facility Security Officer) along with CISF (central Industrial Security Force) officials of VPA have accompanied the Officers throughout their visit and briefed the Trainee IPS Officers on Port Security Related matters.
The Officers are also briefed on various other core port activities like Infrastructure facilities, cargo handling capacity, modernization and mechanization, covered storage facilities, Solar Power, STP water treatment for industrial purpose, investment potential and zone of opportunities in exploring imports and export improvements in Visakhapatnam Port.
