Lokesh slams Jagan rule for non-stop price rise
Not a single development work in Tirupati
Holds campaign in temple town
Not a single job given by Jagan rule in 22 months
Sand became equal to gold in AP
TIRUPATI/AMARAVATI (prajaamaravati): TDP National General Secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh on Monday accused the Jaganmohan Reddy Government of punishing the people with its non-stop financial burdens and increased prices of commodities by pursuing unjust, chaotic policies in the past 22 months in the State.
Mr. Lokesh asked the Tirupati voters why they should support the ruling YSRCP when it did not carry out a single development work in the temple town. The works of the national institutions like the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) were also halted under the Jagan Reddy regime.
Addressing an election meeting in Tirupati, the TDP MLC said that if the YSRCP nominee would be elected, he would become just like a robot MP who would only go and serve the Chief Minister like a devoted, personal servant. Whereas, if TDP nominee Panabaka Lakshmi would get elected, she would fight like a lioness in the Parliament for the development projects in the temple town. Being a former union minister, Ms. Lakshmi would do everything to get justice for the people of the State.
Mr. Lokesh pointed out that the TDP had only a handful of MPs but they were fighting like lions in Delhi to get the Special Category Status and for preventing the privatisation of the Visakha Steel Plant. Whereas, the YSRCP 28 MPs were only acting Jagan Reddy robots unable to do anything for the people of Andhra Pradesh. Even the leaders of the other States were commenting how the YCP MPs were working against the interests of AP without uttering a word for its sake in the Parliament. On the other hand, these YCP MPs had no shame to go and campaign in Puducherry where the BJP has promised in its manifesto to confer the special union territory status.
Stating that the CM was betraying the people on welfare promises throughout, Mr. Lokesh said instead of going on increasing the cash benefits, what Jagan Reddy was doing now was to go on putting additional financial burdens on the people. Sand was not at all available anywhere and it became equal to gold now. The ordinary public were finding it hard to get a pail of sand these days. The YSRCP 'pandi kokkulu' (bandicoots) were eating even sand. The CM promised to bring total prohibition for the health of the poor families but after coming to power, the YCP regime was aiming at increased revenue from liquor.
Mr. Lokesh said that the Chief Minister got Rs. 10,000 revenue only from liquor. Moreover, as if to mock the people of the State, the CM brought in cheap liquor brands with names like the Special Status and the Gold Medal. The ordinary public were falling ill after drinking these unhealthy brands. This Government had failed to create a single job for the young people contrary to its tall promises at the time of the election. No cash benefits or pensions were given to the women of weaker sections and backward classes who crossed 45 years of age.
Mr. Nara Lokesh asserted that any development that took place in Tirupati was brought by the previous Chandrababu Naidu regime. Top companies like Apollo Tyres, Hero Motors, TCL and so on came to the area only because of the pro-people policies of the TDP rule. After the YSRCP came to power, the industries were going away from the region and the State. This Chief Minister could do justice to his own two sisters and he cannot be expected to help the women of the State. Mr. Jagan Reddy left one sister in Delhi and another sister in Hyderabad to struggle for themselves. This Chief Minister had answers when he was questioned about the persons who were responsible for the murder of his own uncle Vivekananda Reddy.
