Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani), Minister of State for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, said that older sisters should be made aware of how to use the Disha app, which the state government has brought with a special focus on women's safety. He was speaking as the chief guest at an awareness seminar on Disha App at the Alankruta Function Hall in Gudivada town on Friday. He said Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy had instructed him to go home and download the Disha app on older sister's phones. He said the government was working to train women policemen and volunteers first and make them more aware of sisterhood. Want to inform women on how to use the Disha app in dangerous situations. Authorities were also ordered to take the event as a drive. Students in colleges and educational institutions also need to be made aware of the use. This will further increase the usage of the Disha app. He said the government should be ready to support the endangered sister. the government has taken steps to ensure that police stations and local police stations respond quickly.
He said the state government would take several measures for the safety and protection of women. Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy said that Disha police stations have been set up for the safety of women. He said that the Disha Act was brought to provide speedy punishment to those who commit atrocities and rapes against women. He said the central government has suggested that some changes be made if the Disha Act is made and sent to Parliament. Again some changes have been made in the law and sent to Parliament. He urged women, civil society and women's groups to give their advice to the central government and bring some pressure on the central government to enact the law. It may not protect everyone, but Minister Kodali Nani believes that setting up the Disha app would be effective if it could help and protect some people at risk through the app. District SP Siddhartha Kaushal said 1.25 lakh people in Gudivada sub-division and six lakh people in Krishna district have downloaded the Disha app so far.
