Lokesh slams Govt for suspending Visakha teacher

Should CM be hanged for using teachers for liquor sale?

Teacher suspended just for forwarding social media message

Jagan social media oppression condemnable

AMARAVATI (prajaamaravati)

: TDP National General Secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh on Thursday strongly objected to the suspension of a Government teacher in the Visakhapatnam district just for forwarding a social media message that was posted by somebody else.

Mr. Lokesh said that S. Naidu was working as an SGT (secondary grade teacher) at Upparagudem primary school in Natavaram mandal of Visakhapatnam district. He was now targetted by the factionist Jagan Reddy regime. He just forwarded a message on social media but the Government was making an allegation that he posted a wrongful message. The teacher's right to freedom of expression was infringed by the ruling YSRCP leaders.

In a statement here, Mr. Nara Lokesh asked whether it would be lawful to suspend a respectable teacher on such a flimsy ground. In that case, what action should be taken against Mr. Jagan Reddy for humiliating the teachers by making them do duties at the shops that sold cheap liquor? Should this Chief Minister be hanged for bringing disgrace to the teachers community that was long honoured for educating the students?

Mr. Lokesh demanded the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the SGT teacher's suspension orders with due respect to the rule of law in the State. CM Jagan would have to face the ire of the general public if he continued to perpetrate the oppressive Raja Reddy constitution on the society. Harassment of teachers became a regular feature and a habitual offence of this Government.

Mr. Lokesh asked why the ruling YSRCP Ministers, Advisors and MLAs were not opening their mouths on the problems of the teachers. Even during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Jagan Reddy Government subjected them to a lot of suffering and mental anguish. The TDP, on its part, would extend all support and solidarity to every agitation that was aimed at protecting the rights and service conditions of teachers.

Decrying the Government's suppressive tactics, Mr. Nara Lokesh said that the YSRCP would eventually pay a heavy price for ill-treating the Government employees and teachers at every step. Mr. Jagan Reddy made countless promises when he was the Opposition leader. He raised expectations of the employees during his grand Padayatra before the 2019 election. Once, he was in the CM chair, Mr. Jagan Reddy was acting like he had lost all past memory and started punishing all sections of people in a variety of ways.

Mr. Lokesh deplored that the Jagan Reddy regime was harassing the people, youth, social media activists and people on flimsy  and trivial grounds. For just asking for a mask, Dr. Sudhakar was arrested, paraded in the street, branded insane and deprived of salary. Chirala Dalit Youth Kiran Kumar was beaten to death just for not wearing a mask. Om Pratap was hunted till his suspicious death just for questioning high prices of cheap liquor brands. The Mansas employees were being denied their salaries just for questioning the Government's wrong policies.
