Gudivada, Sep 11 (prajaamaravati): State Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) has said that the government is paying special attention to repairing roads in the state and work will start as soon as the rains subside. In Krishna District Gudivada constituency, Minister Kodali Nani on Saturday reviewed the construction work of PMJSY roads undertaken at a cost of Rs 15.42 crore. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kodali Nani said that the highest priority is being given to the construction of roads and drains in Gudivada Rural, Nandivada and Gudlavalleru mandals of Gudivada constituency and in Gudivada town. Constructing PR roads with a budget of Rs 46.36 crore. R&B roads at a cost of Rs 47.02 crore, Rs. 15.42 crore for construction of PMJSY roads. He said roads were being constructed in order of priority. He said that the long awaited Gudivada-Kankipadu main road expansion and development work has started. He said a retaining slope along with 10metres CC and BT roads would be constructed from Gudivada to Pedaparupudi at a cost of Rs 16.10 crore. Meanwhile, YS Jaganmohan Reddy said that during the Prajasankalpa Yatra, he saw unfinished roads in many areas. He said even roads that had not been built for many years were ordered to be completed. He said the operation was designed to build new roads at a cost of Rs 6,400 crore. He said the troubled journey on the roads leading from the mandal head quarters to the district centers would no longer be tolerated. In the first phase, 1,244 km of roads will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3,014 crore. In the second phase, 1,268 km of roads will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3,386 crore. He said two-lane roads would be constructed from the mandals to the district centers. The government has already called for tenders to repair the damaged roads. CM Jaganmohan Reddy also directed to invite tenders for unnamed roads. CM Jaganmohan Reddy also reviewed the progress and proposals of national highways in the state. Minister Kodali Nani said necessary steps have been taken to alleviate traffic congestion in cities and towns.
