Gudivada, Feb 17 (prajaamaravati): State Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) has said that he pays homage to CM Jaganmohan Reddy, even though he is young, out of respect for NTR. Minister Kodali Nani has been carrying out various programs since the naming of the Vijayawada-centric area as NTR district. Recently NTR fans were anointed to the bronze statue of NTR at Gudivada NTR Stadium.
On that occasion a meeting was held with NTR fans at the stadium. NTR fans and villagers comment on the construction of a bronze statue of NTR in NTR's hometown Nimmakuru. The development work to be carried out in Nimmakuru was discussed. Recently Minister Kodali Nani met CM Jagan Mohan Reddy along with NTR close relatives, villagers of his hometown Nimmakuru, Pamarru MLA Kyle Anil Kumar. He thanked CM Jagan for setting up the NTR district. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kodali Nani said that, He asked CM Jagan to sanction Rs. 7 crore. Responding immediately, he said CM Jagan had directed that tenders be called for the commencement of development works in the next two to three months. NTR is celebrating its centenary on May 28. He said there was a 14-acre pond in the highway area adjoining the Nimmakuru village. He said he had asked CM Jagan to set up a 25-foot NTR bronze statue in the pond. Nimmakuru villagers said they had brought to the notice of CM Jaganmohan Reddy that the previous governments had ignored their plea to set up an NTR statue. He said CM Jagan had directed the authorities to prepare proposals for setting up a bronze statue of NTR. He also said that the pond will be made a beautiful place. The foundation stone for the NTR bronze statue will be laid on May 28 and will be completed within a year and unveiled by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said it was an honor for the state government to erect a bronze statue in his name in the district and hometown on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of NTR, who served as Gudivada MLA and Chief Minister of the state. As an NTR fan he says he owes a lifetime of gratitude to CM Jagan on behalf of his fans. Minister Kodali Nani has made it clear that he will walk behind CM Jaganmohan Reddy.
