Governor hosts State Banquet for the President


Vijayawada, December 4 (praja amaravati): Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswabhusan Harichandan hosted a State Banquet in honour of Smt. Droupadi Murmu, President of India on her maiden visit to the State at a function held in Raj Bhavan on Sunday.

Chief Minister Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Smt. Y.S. Bharathi Reddy, Union Minister for Tourism, Culture & Development of North Eastern Region Sri G. Kishan Reddy, High Court Chief Justice Sri Prashant Kumar Mishra, Deputy Chief Ministers, Ministers, Vijayawada MP Sri Kesineni Nani, MLAs Sri M. Vishnu, Sri G. Rammohan Rao, Chairperson, NTR District Zilla Parishad, Chief Information Commissioner, Vijayawada City Mayor, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, Special Chief Secretary to Governor, Vijayawada Police Commissioner, Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner and other dignitaries have attended the function held in Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan.   

Earlier, Governor Sri Harichandan and Chief Minister Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy welcomed the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu on her arrival at Gannavaram International Airport and proceeded to the M-Convention Centre in Poranki near Vijayawada. President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu was felicitated by Governor Sri Harichandan and Chief Minister Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Civic Reception organised by the State Government in honour of the visiting President.  

After the State Banquet, the Governor along with the President of India left for INS Dega in Visakhapatnam by a special aircraft from Gannavaram International Airport, to participate in the Indian Navy Day celebrations there.
