Addressing teachers online on Wednesday, Principal Secretary of School Education Sri. Praveen Prakash thanked the teachers and conveyed best wishes for their exemplary work at 23 spot valuation centres across the State. He said that teachers were spending almost 8 hours evaluating SSC exam papers, even when the temperatures are close to 40 degrees celsius.
Recalling his visit to valuation centres in Guntur and Bapatla, Sri. Praveen Prakash stated that pathetic conditions prevailed in those centres with poor conditions and lacked basic standards to be selected as valuation centres. He pointed out that a few officials have exhibited inertia in selecting those centres, instead of doing better by using technology and seeking support from other departments like Police, Revenue, Energy etc. He said that the whole country is talking about the iconic programmes in Andhra Pradesh such as Bilingual Textbooks, Jagaanna Amma Vodi, Manabadi Nadu Nedu and has a budget of over Rs.35,000 Crores for the Education Sector. He opined it is necessary to bring 23 spot valuation centres, the best in the country. He further said that the Government took less than 12 hours to enhance 50% of the total valuators, to ease the workflow.
Sri. Praveen Prakash stated that two intense training programmes will be held for all the teachers to gear up for the next academic year. As requested by the teachers, a blended training programme in both online and offline will be given in 4-5 modules in using technology for tabs, interactive flat panels, smart tvs, Byju’s content and connectivity by the Higher Education Council. The second programme includes training on Deeksha Platform for all Maths, Science and English teachers with reputed institutions like IITs. IIT Madras will be offering the training to the teachers.
On this occasion, Sri.Praveen Prakash stated that he is just a call away on 9013133636 for any issues regarding school education. Regarding the Parvathi Manyam District issue, where Mathematics-II textbooks were not provided to 8th class students, he said that 40 books were given within 12 hours of identifying the issue. He instructed the teachers and officials to be sensible for avoiding such incidents in future.
