AWARENESS SESSION ON RIGHTS OF INDIAN WOMEN IN NRI MATRIMONIAL ISSUES

1.AP Police CID has conducted an Awareness on Rights of Women in NRI Matrimonial issues today in collaboration with National Commission for women, Govt of India.

2.The Venue is at Acharya Nagarjuna University Auditorium from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm

3.Sri A. ASHOLI CHALAI Joint Secretary National Commission for Women attended as Chief Guest.

5.Smt Vasireddy Padma Chairperson AP Women’s Commission attended as Guest of Honour.

6.The inauguration with Lighting of lamp was done by Sri N. Sanjay IPS in the presence of Sri Asholi Chalai, Smt Vasireddy Padma, President NRT Society Sri M. Venkat, Registrar ANU Dr Karuna, Dr. Saraswathi Iyer Dept of Sociology, Dr,Gowri Prof in Law.

The main participants are DySPs , Inspectors from all districts who are nodal officers for NRI issues and Mahila Police ( Sachivaalayam) who are working at grassroot level for empowerment of common man.

Sri Asholi Chelai addressed about various laws and rights of women in NRI Matrimonial issues . He expressed his concern about constraints and challenges in issues like passport impounding, extradition, custody of children, Redressal in abandonment of children and wife etc.

He expressed his concern for Sensitization of police officers and even parents. He requested Mahila Police to bring awareness in taking all precautions in NRI Marriages.

Mr Venkat Medapati explained all the assistance from the Govt of AP .

Smt Vasireddy Padma has expressed the precautions the parents should take before going for NRI Marriages and suggested that NRI Marriages should not be performed for status enhancement.She urged the police and all all legal authorities to make efforts in helping the victim women.

Resource persons include Smt Babitha Member Secretary of Honble State Legal Service authority, Sri LaxmanaRao Legal Advisor CID who spoke about all the legal provisions in NRI issues.

ADG Law and Order Sri Sankabrata Bagchi gave valedictory address and appreciated CID Officers for this initiative.

Smt KGV Saritha SP CID who is incharge of AP CID NRI Cell has coordinated the entire one day program and received appreciation from ADG CID Sri N. Sanjay for all her effort.
