Nivas on resolving various issues as part of a Rytu Spandana program organized at the Agriculture Department AD office in Gudivada town of Krishna district on Wednesday. Erneni Rajendra Prasad, a resident of Bommuluru village in Gudivada rural mandal, said that the Komaravolu drain was not releasing irrigation water in full, which was not irrigating the suburban lands under Bommuluru, Nuzella and Komaravolu strategic areas. Farmers irrigated through the Pol Raj Canal to the villages of Komatigunta, Kavuthara and downstream areas through the Rivas canal in the Gudlavalleru mandal are facing difficulties. Farmer Penneru Prabhakar demanded that the level gauge be increased to 250. Shankara Rao, a farmer from Gudivada, said that there was no irrigation for farmers within two kilometers of the suburban lands under the lunar drains and that the canals should be dredged. Bommuluru village farmer Gutta Azad said the crop was completely damaged by last year's rains and no insurance had been filed so far. Later, Minister Kodali Nani said that all measures are being taken to ensure proper irrigation of canals. It is suggested that excavation work be carried out where necessary.
