Gudivada, Sep 6 (prajaamaravati): State Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani) has said that 58 per cent of the 481 director posts announced by the state government for 47 corporations have been allotted to BCs, SCs, STs and minorities. Minister Kodali Nani spoke to media after congratulating AP Tourism Development Corporation Director Nagulla Satyanarayana and AP State Brahmin Corporation Director Turlapati Kanakadurga at his residence in Rajendranagar, Gudivada town, Krishna district on Monday. Of the 481 corporation directors, 52 percent are women. More than half of all corporations have women as directors. He said the government was giving highest priority to the socially and politically backward sections. Jaganmohan Reddy said 15 people were elected as MLCs after the government came to power. Of these, 11 are from BC, SC, ST and minority communities. The government has also set up 56 special corporations for the BC castes. More than half of the chairpersons of corporations, municipalities and nagar panchayats are allocated to BCs, SCs, STs and minorities. Of the 137 nominated posts, 58 per cent were given to BCs, SCs, STs and minorities. He said that CM Jaganmohan Reddy was working towards the goal of social justice. He said that even the people of the lower castes are being given a share in the state power. It is said that all women are preferred over men. CM Jaganmohan Reddy said that efforts are being made to empower women financially. BC, SC, ST and minority communities are expected to take full advantage of government schemes and rise to the top. During the last 26 months, Rs. 50 thousand 495 crore and Rs. 17 thousand 012 crore and Rs. 5 thousand 383 crores and Rs. 4,383 crore was provided to SC, ST, BC, Minorities directly by the government. CM Jaganmohan Reddy said that SC, ST, BC and minorities are being given all the opportunities like never before in the history of the country. Minister Kodali Nani hoped that everyone who got the nominated posts would work responsibly and bring good name to CM Jaganmohan Reddy. YCP state leader Dukkipati Sasibhushan, YCP Gudivada Rural Mandal President Matta John Victor, leaders Turlapati Ravi, Mondru Venkateswara Rao, Pilla Shekhar, Gorumuchu Suresh, Chitti, Kallakuri Hariprasad, Agastya Raju Krishnamohan and others were present on the occasion.
