Gudivada, September 9 (prajaamaravati): As soon as YS Jaganmohan Reddy took over as the Chief Minister, he focused on the condition of all the hospitals in the state. 10.70 crore has been sanctioned, said Kodali Srivenkateswara Rao (Nani), Minister of State for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. Minister Kodali Nani is reviewing the construction work of the new building at Gudivada Area Government Hospital from time to time. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kodali Nani said that a 100-bed Government Hospital was constructed in Gudivada town in 1983 when NTR was the Chief Minister. He said the building was crumbling and slab scabs were falling on patients and doctors. As soon as he took over as minister, he asked the government to remove the three-storey building and provide funds for the construction of a new building. Recognizing the need for construction of a new building in Gudivada Area Government Hospital, CM Jaganmohan Reddy immediately sanctioned Rs. 10.70 crore has been sanctioned and GO has been released. Until then, neither he nor the doctors here knew about the matter. It is understandable that CM Jaganmohan Reddy has not hesitated to spend much on the development and modernization of government Hospitals. YSR Village Clinics are being set up across the state with the aim of making medical services available 24 hours a day even in rural areas. As part of this, 27 health clinics have been sanctioned for Gudivada constituency. Some of these have been completed and started, while others are under construction. ANM quarters are also being set up exclusively for these health clinics. The OP and IP departments have been shifted to a different building as a new building is being constructed to replace the old one at Gudivada Govt Hospital. When the new building is completed, 10 types of OP and IP departments like Pediatrics, Nephrology, Ophthalmology and Cardiology will be available. Minister Kodali Nani said the aim was to inspire CM Jaganmohan Reddy to provide all kinds of medical services to the poor.
